Recovery Residence Research
IRIS is excited to announce that we are continuing our ongoing community-engaged substance recovery research through two new projects under one umbrella study focused on Maryland substance use recovery residences. Each project is informed by our PARTNER Advisory Council made up of peers, other agency leaders, and academics.
1) Peer Recovery Housing Project:
Funded through UMB’s Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), we aim to learn about recovery residence peer roles, training needs, organizational and system-level supports, and the impacts of peer work on clients and peers.  For this qualitative study, we will interview recovery residence peer support workers, house managers, operators, and public policy leaders. Click here for further information to see if you are eligible to participate! Please contact Project Manager at jon.gilgoff@ssw.umaryland.edu with any questions.
2) Recovery Housing Outcomes, Practices, and Evaluation (R-HOPE):
Funded through UMB’s Center for Addition Research, Education and Service (CARES), we aim to learn about recovery residence services, staffing structures, linkages to community care, and treatment. Here we will use a primarily quantitative survey to interview MCORR certified recovery residence operators. Operators wishing to participate in the study, please contact Project Manager at victoria.barreira@ssw.umaryland.edu.

Results from both projects will be shared with key recovery residence stakeholders to help improve service delivery, policies, and workforce supports.
